Every day more than 6 million inhabitants in Madrid turn on their taps and receive a top-quality essential resource: water. This has been taking pace for more than 165 years, a period in which the citizens of Madrid have been trusting Canal de Isabel II. We wish to continue managing a resource that belongs to everyone, using everyone's resources, and to continue representing a company of pride for all the inhabitants of Madrid.

The Canal de Isabel II Strategic Plan addresses our challenges of modernization and sustainability, and maintains and promotes technological levels and excellence in service. We want to strengthen our public company by recovering its essence and integrating all Madrid city councils into our decision-making bodies, so that it becomes regarded as the motor channel of the Community of Madrid and a leading European company in the sector.

ORGANIZATION CHART
He holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. His professional activity began in the Fire and Civil Protection Service of Alcorcón City Council, where he was chief officer.
In 2015 he was appointed director general of Citizen Protection of the Community of Madrid, and two years later he became director of the Madrid 112 Security and Emergency Agency. Since July 2021, in addition to continuing to head that agency, he has been appointed Deputy Minister of the Interior of the Government of the Community of Madrid. Since June 2023, he has been Minister for the Environment, Agriculture, and the Interior Affairsof the Community of Madrid.
Throughout his professional career, he has combined his work as a firefighter with collaborations in institutions related to civil protection and emergencies, and with teaching functions in safety, emergencies, and fire protection. He has also acted as a speaker and coordinator at conferences and congresses related to these fields and has chaired the Professional Association of Firefighter Technicians between 2012 and 2021.

Mariano González Sáez holds a degree in Law and is a career civil servant belonging to the Senior Technical Corps of the General State Administration. Over the last thirty years, he has held various positions of responsibility in environmental matters at the three levels of public administration: the Ministry of the Environment; the Regional Ministry of the Environment, Housing and Agriculture of the Community of Madrid, where he is leaving his post as Deputy Minister; and the Department of the Environment of Madrid City Council.
He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE), of the State Water Management Company of the Northern Basin, of the State Water Management Company of the Tagus Basin, of the Madrid Mobility Company of the Madrid City Council, of the Environmental Management and Development Company of the Community of Madrid (GEDESMA) and of the Madrid Institute for Rural, Agricultural and Food Research and Development (IMIDRA).
A graduate in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. Before joining Canal de Isabel II in 2000, she worked for Infilco Española, a water treatment company belonging to the Entrecanales Group. In 2005 she was appointed Deputy Director of Engineering and Construction at Canal de Isabel II. In 2014 she accepted her current position as Director of Operations for the company. For almost ten years, she was a member of the Commission II of the Spanish Association for Water Supply and Sanitation. She represents the Community of Madrid on the Tajo Hydrographic Confederation Water Board.
A graduate in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, specialising in Foundations and Structures. Before joining Canal de Isabel II in 2002, he worked in the private water industry, on the design, construction and operation of waste water treatment plants. He holds several management positions at Canal de Isabel II, directing water and sanitation projects, and responsible for the operation and maintenance of the waste water treatment installations. He has held the post of Director of Innovation and Engineering since 2014.
A Telecommunications Engineer, specialising in Radio Communication and in Data Communication and Switching Architectures, graduated at the Polytechnic University of Madrid. He was employed in the private sector, working in software development and microwave technology. He joined Canal de Isabel II in 1989, as Head of the Communications Division. In 2000 he was appointed deputy director of Technology for Canal de Isabel II, and in 2004 he took over the management of the newly-created Division of Business and Municipal Development. In 2007 he became Director of Information and Remote Control Systems, and since September 2009 he has been responsible for the company's Commercial Directorate.
He holds a degree in Economics (Universidad de Sevilla) and Law (UNED – Open University). He belongs to the Senior Corps of State Auditors and to the Audit and Accounting Technical Corps.
Prior to joining Canal, he worked as director of the National Audit Office of the General Intervention of the State Administration, where he carried out control functions in the field of state public audits, as well as audit authority in the field of subsidies and European structural funds for the control of the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism (RRM). Previously, he was responsible for public procurement at the Central de Contratación del Estado and at the Ministry of Finance. He has also been a member of the Governing Board of State Vehicle Pool and of the Board of Directors of the Sociedad Estatal de Infraestructuras Agrarias (SEIASA).
She holds a degree in Law from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and is a career civil servant in the Corps of Senior Technicians in the General Administration of the Community of Madrid. Since 2003, she has held various positions in the Administration of the Community of Madrid as deputy director of personnel, centres and programmes, and labour relations, secretary general of the Regional Institute for Health and Safety at Work, and secretary of its board of directors.
Since mid-2020, she has worked as a technical adviser to the Regional Ministry of the Environment, Agriculture, and the Interior, in the Secretariat of the Board of Trustees, and on the Governing Board of the Madrid Regional Energy Foundation. Prior to her appointment as a career civil servant in 2003, she practised law freely and worked as a lawyer and head of legal advice in various insurance companies.
She is a State Lawyer and holds a degree in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid (San Pablo CEU). She has experience on boards of directors: as Secretary of the Board of Directors of the State Society for State Lotteries and Bets (SELAE), SEGIPSA, Acción Cultural Española, S.A. (ACE), Sociedad Estatal de Exposiciones Internacionales S.A. and Agencia EFE. And as a director of various public companies, such as SELAE, SEIASA and INISAS. She has held various positions in the State Attorney General’s Office, such as the Head of the State Attorney’s Office in the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, in the State Secretariat of Economy, and other positions in State Attorney’s Offices such as before the Supreme Court, before the High Court of Justice of Madrid, in the Ministry of Health, in the Railway Infrastructure Management Entity (GIF), in the Government Delegation in Madrid or in the Regional Economic Administrative Court of Madrid. She was also a member of the group of experts who drafted the Unified Code of Good Governance in 2006.
He has been a General Brigadier of the Guardia Civil in a reserve situation since March 2018. During his career in the armed institute, he has held positions of responsibility in the Information Technology Service of the Guardia Civil, in the Headquarters of the Support Services and in the Permanent Secretariat of Evaluation and Classification, among other units.
A graduate in Computer Science, he has completed the Official Master's Degree in Information Technology and Computer Systems at the Rey Juan Carlos University, the Higher Course of Specialist in Security Management and Direction at the Francisco de Victoria University and has the title of Director of Security issued by the Interior Ministry. He has also taken courses related to High Management of Financial Resources, Public Safety, Technology Management and Cryptology in entities such as CESEDEN, the Ortega y Gasset University Institute and the Business School Institute, among others.
From December 2018 to his incorporation to Canal de Isabel II, he has been Secretary General of the Autonomous Agency for the Management of Infrastructures and State Security Equipment.
